Three Bus Bridge Weekends near Pleasant Hill Station
BART has replaced concrete ties near Pleasant Hill station that were damaged during the derailment on that portion of the track in June. We have been operating reduced speed trains in this part of the system since the incident. For the safety of the work crew, service near Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Center Station will be reduced to one lane for this work on the following Sundays:
Area cyclists should plan to add 15-20 minutes to their rides on these Sundays.
The work will also require three non-consecutive weekends in October and November when track crews will need all the track space to carry out these repairs. On subsequent weekends there will be no train service between Pleasant Hill and Concord stations. Instead, free buses provided by County Connection will replace trains between Pleasant Hill and Concord:
- October 15-16
- October 29-30
- November 12-13
Area riders should expect 30-minute weekend delays on the bus deck. To avoid the bus bridge, riders can start westbound trips at Walnut Creek or Lafayette. Both stations have had ample weekend parking throughout the pandemic.
Passengers can track service impacts, including the latest real-time departure information, by downloading the official BART app.
