Snowfall enhances beauty of Shimla, internet compares hill station to Switzerland

People have been sharing beautiful photos of snow-capped Shimla on social media platforms and calling it the Switzerland of India.

As the mercury dips in Himachal Pradesh, one of Shimla’s most famous tourist destinations has been experiencing snowfall for the past few days. Most parts of the hill station are covered with a thick layer of snow.

A new wave of snow on January 23 enhanced the scenic beauty of the mountain station. Houses, trees and the station coated in white coats have made the tourist destination more picturesque.

People have been sharing beautiful photos of snow-capped Shimla on social media platforms and calling it the Switzerland of India.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also joined the rally and shared a video clip of a train pulling out of snow-covered Shimla station. In the caption, he wrote that people can experience the same scenic beauty as Switzerland in Shimla. His post was retweeted by several netizens.

Kufri and Narkanda, other tourist destinations in the state, also receive a large amount of snow these days, which makes the places more scenic.

However, people’s normal life has been crippled due to the cold weather conditions.

Shimla meteorological center has predicted that several parts of Himachal Pradesh will receive snowfall till January 25.

According to reports, India’s meteorological department has predicted heavy rain and snowfall for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
