Shady Side Academy Announces Summer Program Schedule
Registration is open for Shady Side Academy’s 2022 summer programs.
More than 25 fun, safe and affordable camps and classes are offered for children entering K-12 at SSA Senior, Middle and Country Day School campuses at Fox Chapel.
Programs run from June 13 to August. 12, and include Day Camps, STEAM Camps, Sports Camps, Concentration Camps, and Summer Schools.
Designed for working parents, full-day camps include lunch and free childcare before, plus optional paid childcare. Bus transportation is offered to and from Fox Chapel camps from the North Hills and East End communities.
Camps will have COVID-19 health and safety protocols in place, including limited registrations.

North Hills Adventurers (K-K) is offered on the 17-acre campus of SSA Country Day School. Campers explore nature and play games in a unique treehouse classroom and on wooded trails, playgrounds and fields. Six weekly sessions are offered with half-day and full-day options.
Day Camp Discovery (grades 1-5) takes place on the 130-acre campus of SSA High School. Campers enjoy daily activities including swimming, tennis, media arts, outdoor adventure and drama, as well as competition days and picnic dances. Six weekly sessions are offered.
Camp Ren (grades 6-9) is a day camp offered on the 35-acre campus of SSA Middle School. Campers benefit from greater autonomy and activities such as robotics, cooking, cinema and ceramics. Six weekly sessions are offered.
Sports Camps (K-8) are led by SSA coaches and allow kids of all skill levels to learn a new sport or improve their skills. Week-long tennis, basketball and ice hockey camps are offered at the SSA Senior School Sports Complex.
Steam Camps (K-8) engage kids in creative, hands-on activities in science, technology, and more. Week-long camps include Minecraft and Roblox coding for middle schoolers, and Mad Science camps in robotics, LEGO, earth science, outer space and more for elementary school kids.
Concentration camps (K-5) allow children to focus on a single interest or skill. Week-long camps in drama, mindfulness, sports and games are offered.
Summer School (Grades 2-12) offers small classes and individual attention. Students in grades 2 through 8 can deepen their knowledge of math and language arts, and a Stay & Play option allows them to combine summer school and day camp for a full day of learning and of pleasure. Secondary school offerings from grades 9 through 12 include credit courses in art, math, and science.
