Police searching for a missing teenager who may be in danger closed the streets of Bellingham, Massachusetts on Thursday as they appealed to the public for help in locating the boy.
Asher Mahoney, 13, disappeared around 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the city’s Scott Hill Acres neighborhood, police said. On Thursday afternoon, authorities shut down parts of Easy Street and Douglas Drive in the neighborhood as part of the search.
Police asked the public to avoid the area during the search, which included police dogs. A missing person alert for Asher was sent to area phones, and police were asking anyone in the area to review their cameras since his disappearance.
“Please also check your cars, sheds, etc.,” they wrote in a statement.

Asher is around 5ft 6in tall and slim with brown hair and eyes. He was wearing dark clothing and riding a black mountain bike with a black bicycle helmet when he was last seen, police said.

Bellingham is in southeastern Massachusetts, north of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
