Men’s and women’s swimming chosen to finish third in inaugural SAC pre-season poll

Rock Hill, SC – The Lenoir-Rhyne women’s and men’s swim team have been selected to finish in third place in the first-ever SAC swim pre-season poll. The 2022-23 season is the first ever for the SAC to include swimming. The Bears will be joined by Wingate, Carson-Newman, Catawba, Mars Hill and Emory & Henry. Prior to this season, the Bears competed in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference for swimming.

The women had 17 points and finished behind Wingate and Carson-Newman. The Bulldogs won four votes for first place while the Eagles collected the other two. The men also arrived with 17 points for their third-place selection. Wingate won five of six first-place votes while Carson-Newman had only one vote for their second place.

Both teams opened their seasons with wins at the Guilford Invite and both will return to the pool this Friday as they host Mars Hill inside Shuford Pool.
