Man stabbed to death after leaving Northwest Side bar
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a man in a parking lot on the Northwest Side and the attack on a friend who was with him.
Police say the two men had just left the Deol Sports Bar and Grill around closing time on Friday morning when someone attacked them in a dark part of the parking lot near the Loop 1604 access road and the Chase Hill Blvd.
According to bar staff and a detective, the men had not been involved in any altercations or disturbances inside the bar.
The bar manager said a company bouncer was taking out the bins shortly after 2 a.m. when he noticed a man lying on the floor.
She says several other employees rushed to help and attempted to perform CPR on the stabbing victim, but he died at the scene.
According to the police, the other man who accompanied him had been knocked unconscious.
He told them that he woke up and saw his friend lying on the ground, bleeding.
Investigators said they plan to review surveillance video from inside the bar for clues and obtain video from other businesses in the mall.
The only description police had of the attackers was that they were two men in a white Dodge pickup truck.
