ELKS – The “Live and Drive” The Summer Concert Series at the Rotary Amphitheater in Elkins Town Square will now be offered on Wednesday evenings for the remainder of July.
The concert series, which has been a staple on Thursday nights, will move to Wednesdays for the rest of the month so it doesn’t conflict with Augusta Heritage’s concert schedule.
“We wanted to change the days for the rest of the month so that there would not be a series of concerts on the same night that Augusta had one”, Our town volunteer Bobbi Trimboli told The Inter-Mountain on Tuesday. “It really works for everyone, because now people can not only attend ‘Live & Drive’ concerts, but they can also attend Augusta performances.”
Mountain State Street Machines cruises will not be affected by the schedule change. Cruises will still take place on Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tonight’s concert, which will be the fifth in the 2022 series, will feature Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle, starting at 6 p.m. The four-piece American/folk band can best be described as “American.” From mountains to Music Row, from blues-gospel to traditional country, the Hustle combines parts of the genre catalog born in the United States to create an energetic experience every night.
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle transition from upbeat, driving hymns to harmony-laden ballads and traditional dirges of spirit and labor.
The next night in the concert series will be on July 27, when Borher Smith comes to town for a performance at the Rotary Amphitheatre. The rest of the concerts this summer include: Ryan Cain and The Ables (August 11); The Hooten Hallers (August 25); Blue Steel and The New Relics (September 8); and Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. (September 22).
Local food vendors, including the Kiwanis corn dog stand, will be set up for spectators to enjoy while enjoying the show.
