Avanti releases ‘Another Side of Britain’ e-brochure for FIT Travel
WHY IT RATES: Travel advisers can find all the information they need about independent travel in Britain with Avanti’s new e-brochure. —Janeen Christoff, TravelPulse Senior Writer
Avanti Destinations has launched an e-brochure for advisers outlining the many reasons Britain appeals to independent travel clients, regardless of their interests or demographics, and whether they are traveling for the first time or returning to the UK -United. Avanti sells bespoke independent travel vacations exclusively through travel advisors, not directly to consumers.
Designed as a one-stop source for all UK independent travel information, the 44-page downloadable e-brochure, ‘Welcome to Another Side of Britain; Classic Sites and Endless Wonders’, is available on the Travel Advisor Portal from Avanti.
Included are a 2022 calendar of 24 special events between June and December, including the Jane Austen Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, Leeds International Festival of Ideas, International Scottish Storytelling Festival, Edinburgh’s wacky Fringe Festival, the elaborate and hair-raising Halloween celebration of Derry/Londonderry, and the winter wonderland of Cardiff; thumbnail descriptions of 15 four- and five-star hotels, including castles and mansions, and more than 20 distinct destinations, most of them little known to most American travelers.
Special Interest Themes and Experiences
Also highlighted are destinations and experiences offered by Avanti related to particular interests, such as gardens, The Beatles, food and drink (afternoon tea, innovative and traditional cuisine, pubs, brasseries and gin and whiskey distilleries), scenic natural areas (Lake District, Isle of Skye, North York Moors) and filming locations for popular TV shows and movies (Bridgerton, Outlander, Harry Potter and others).
Among the new Avanti experiences described: excursion from Bridgerton to Bath and Wilton House (from London), afternoon tea at the elegant St. Ermins Hotel (London), visit to the Warner Brothers studio with “The Making of Harry Potter” (London), private Beatles walking tour (Liverpool) and private North York moorland tour, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay tour (from York).
Six customizable independent vacations
To inspire advisors to create personalized vacations for their FIT clients, the e-brochure lists six basic Avanti itineraries, which can be modified by adding or subtracting days, destinations, activities, transportation options (private transfers, rental car or train) and accommodation: Enchanting England (nine days in London, Oxford, Stratford and Bath); British Classics (seven days in London, York and Edinburgh); Best of Britain (nine days in London, Liverpool and Edinburgh); the Gardens of England by car (11 days in London, Cotswolds, Lake District, York); the Best of Scotland self-drive (seven days in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow); and England in a Glass (seven days in London and York).
“There are so many reasons why Americans should visit Britain,” said Paul Barry, CEO of Avanti Destinations. “The first is that English is the norm, even if it’s with a different accent. Television programs and films had made much of the United Kingdom and its history familiar to American audiences. For gardeners, England is a sort of Holy Grail, as it is for lovers of theater and literature. The diversity of natural and historic landscapes that make up England, Scotland, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland allow for self-guided family explorations. No matter the time of year and their interests, Britain will appeal to your customers on their first trip and keep them coming back for more.
“Great to see this new e-brochure from Avanti, one of the successful applicants to our Destination Management Company and Inbound Tour Operator Amplification and Distribution Fund, designed to help kick-start demand for Britain, driving the immediacy of tours and bookings,” said Gavin Landry, VisitBritain’s Executive Vice President for the Americas.
“Our priority is to drive demand from those who are most likely to visit this year, so it’s fantastic to see Avanti’s alignment with our Welcome to another side of Britain marketing campaign, showing that Britain is full of amazing experiences to come and see right now, as well as expanding itineraries and encouraging visitors to explore more and stay longer,” added Landry.
